Microsoft communication solutions is changing Lync to Skype for Business. This is likely because many people follow Microsoft communications solutions. This will also mean changes to Microsoft Lync certification exams, which will be replaced by Skype for Business exams.
Although it is not yet clear when the new Skype for Business exams are going to be available, Lync exams will be retiring on July 31, 2015. If you want to take one of these exams, you need to hurry:

Microsoft has not yet confirmed the date at which the new Skype exams are to be available, however they are expected to be available before the Lync exams.
The new Skype for Business exams, just like the Lync exams count towards MCSE: Communications. As new Skype exams are available every week, it’s time for you to begin looking at possible scenarios and analyzing all information.
Skype for Business vs. Lync
Microsoft claims that Skype for Business builds upon Lync’s features, functionality and capabilities. Lync exams will give you a solid foundation for your Skype for Business implementation. This is a great overview of the latest features in Skype for Business.
What else is there to know?
You don’t need to upgrade if you have already passed your MCSE Communication through Lync exams. Your certification will be valid until you recertify. Recertification is a great way for you to stay current in the most recent technology, such Skype for Business. Microsoft will soon offer a few recertification options to MCSE: Communications.
